Happy 2020 everyone!
Wait, it’s not 2020 in EST for another three hours you say? Well I’m not in EST, I’m not in North America for that matter. In fact, it’s been 2020 for me for three hours now. Where am I? Italy!
My brief unemployment is coming to an end. It could have ended in December, but I asked my new employer if I could start in mid January instead so that I may have a guaranteed zero work vacation. They were more than willing to accommodate & I am having a blast! We left Toronto on Christmas Day & arrived here on Boxing Day. Most Italians are off until after the Epiphany on January 6th, so life is one big celebration right now.
I am not looking forward to returning to the bitter cold & snow, but I am looking forward to my new place of employment. The last two months of 2019 have been exactly what the doctor ordered, time to decompress, but I knew I couldn’t keep myself from boredom forever. My new employer isn’t a place holder though, I foresee myself there until my retirement & I am incredibly excited to reveal to all of you who they are on January 15th. Until then, you’re all going to have to wait with bated breath. To make the wait easier, here is my favorite view I see on a regular basis on our stays in Italy. The ancient town of Artena.
Here’s to a wonderful 2020 for all of us! Salute!
